The Stein & Vein. Brandon, FL.
Review: A server at another restaurant actually recommended that I check out The Stein & Vein when I mentioned that I was a big foodie and a new blogger looking to find the best eats in the Tampa area. This place is simply “the bomb”. That means they have very good food! The Meal: Shrimp Patty Sandwich & Chili Cheese Tater Tots. Tashia’s Taste says: 3.5/5forks. Succulent, large shrimp diced into a patty, served on a bun with lettuce and I forget what else. It was good and was not processed crap! The star of the plate was the darn tater tots. Now you might be thinking wrong like I initially did and wondering “A tater tot”? “What good sit-down restaurant serves tater tots as a main side”? Well, don’t ask anymore questions, just order them with chili and cheese and thank me later. They are so dang good I made 4 frequent back to back visits just to get them. Along the way I tried the S&V Shrimp and Grits (2.5forks), this dish was flavorful but the dish was overwhelmed by bacon. If you’re like me, you might be thinking wrong again in that there is no such thing as too much bacon but in this rendition, it is, IMO. On like my 3rd trip I stumbled upon a Pork Belly sandwich with lettuce and a lemon aioli that knocked my eyeballs further back into my head. If I return to a place this many times, they definitely are doing something right and these people have the sauce! Overall: 4/5forks
